For those that take insulin with your meals, how do you go about taking it when you're out at a restaurant or other social gatherings? Do you take it out in front of everyone or do you try to find a secluded spot to take it? How does it make you feel when you take it, knowing people are curious?

I've had type 1 for 40 years..diagnosed at 1.5 years old. Been on the pump since 2003 and love it. But if you know your going to a restaurant, take it right before you go in, if not, hit the restroom or do it at the table. Pens make it easy if you're not on the pump and don't want to draw from a vial at the table. I would use the opportunity as a teaching tool though, if possible. The more your friends know, the safer you are
