Hi everyone just found this app! 28 y/o living in Ohio. How does everyone feel about their pumps? I am looking into them but cannot find one that I love.

Pump therapy made all the difference in the world for me. Had a tough time coming to terms with being connected all the time but after dialing in my control scheme I felt dumb for not getting a pump years earlier. I started with a Minimed and it worked fine for many years. Last year I switched to the Tandem T-slim with Dexcom G4 and have been thoroughly impressed. Have had some adaption issues to new infusion sets but all in all I love it. Highly recommend it.

See I have the Dexcom g5 for continuous monitoring but I just can’t get my head to wrap around the idea of tubes always be attached for the insulin. I was looking at the Omni pods as they don’t have tubes but I just don’t know.

That's why I held out for years but after experiencing the control I realized the inconvenience of tubing was a small price to pay. It's another small sacrifice but you adapt quickly. Every once in a while I get a tug on the cord and remember but for the most part I don't realize I'm attached. Do you have any specific concerns that are holding you back or is it just the freedom loss?

It’s mostly the freedom loss. The CGM was a lot for me to handle at first and there are still times where I don’t wear it for months because I hate it on my body. But when I do wear it I have a much better grasp on my numbers and insulin sensitivity tracking. For me it’s mind over matter. How big is your tandem t slim?

this is compared to a co-workers Iphone. If you carry a transmitter when using your cgm or just using your phone?

It's nice and convenient to have your pump reading your sugars and adjusting as needed

I just use my phone. It’s more convenient than having 2 different devices.

That’s not terrible though. It’s a small enough size to just hook on pants and skirts. Thanks!

No problem, hope I helped. I do believe pump therapy is a great improvement in control. Hopefully you'll get some female perspectives on tube management and discretion but the several women I've talked to that use pumps are also staunch supporters. Good luck
