Ok, I admit it. I'm a diabetic noob. Am I also in denial that I have yet to resign myself to sticking myself regularly for testing? Hell, I hate it when others stick me! Must I now do it myself??!!

I know it's pie in the sky right now, but folks working on Google Glass developed prototype for contact lenses that monitor blood sugar.

You'll be fine. Hang in there! Finger tip testing will become an easy part of your daily life.

Thanks for the encouragement Frank. Through my life I've always been a needle wimp but I'm getting better. Obviously never military.

Sides of fingers are best. Sometimes it "smarts/hurts" just for a second or two

I find it easier to not use a device. I just poke myself with the lancet. I am a type 1 and I have been doing this for over 30 years. Just do it, don't think about it. You are stronger than you think

Actually I had such a great experience some time back with a tech that used a device that I thought it would be the way to go. Was completely painless. If I could duplicate that all would be golden.

And so I go to my doc the other day for something unrelated but ask about testing cuz I need prescription for test strips. He says... Why don't we wait on testing for now. Ugh! Stay tuned.
