where people touched by diabetes help each other.

I'm type one for 14 years and on an insulin pump. Not very controlled. Does anyone have any suggestions on things to treat a low? I eat until I feel better but brings me up to 4-500 sometimes .

I used to do that too. Then I learned the trick of eating 15 carbs, then waiting 15 minutes to retest. I use glucose tabs.

I'm gonna get the glucose tabs! I actually forgot about those! Thanks!

Mentos are really good too, they were recommended to me by another diabetic. Five pieces = 15g carb

I go low often in the middle of the night and drink chocolate milk...it will help stop my BS from dropping unlike juices

Self made protein shakes with a small dash of peanut butter is always good

String cheese? But there's no carbs in strong cheese I thought. Or not enough to bring up sugar. The protein shakes sound good tho!

String cheese is good for a low carb snack, NOT good for treating low blood sugar.
