where people touched by diabetes help each other.

Hi I'm type 1 for 16 years. On a animas pump and hopefully changing to Medtronic soon. I also have a under active thyroid and seem to be less tolerant to wheat. Would love to chat to any one 😃

Hi, my son is also on an Animas pump, keeping him on a gluten free diet has been an important part of controlling his blood sugar. Give it a try!

Hey! Yeah I'm trying to avoid gluten. It does help but just hard to give it up.

Hi**** I'm type 1 for 14 1/2 years and have hypothyroidism too. I have the Medtronic Paradigm. Are you getting the new one? Good to see another Aussie here

Hi**** Yeah hopefully get the paradigm soon. Did u get the cgm as well? Great to another chat to a Aussie. I've been trying to find another type 1 in my town to chat with but no luck. I found a young girl and have helped them a bit in trying to understand the condition.

No CGM yet. Can't quite afford the $50 a week to run it! There's a new Medtronic out there now called Minimed 640G. It looks amazing and I want it but only got my pump last year. I need to chat with my health fund to see if they would let me upgrade due to my poor eyesight

That sucks. It your poor eye sight due to ur diabetes? I have been reasonably lucky in that area and had no real problems cause due to my diabetes. Except carpul tunnel maybe.

I was stupid and ignored my diabetes for many many years. I have swelling at the back of my eyes from excess blood vessels (have been treated with laser and steroid injections), cataracts which should come out this year which will help a lot too, also I'm currently 1% off end stage renal failure.

I see the Dialysis Educator next week. The kidney disease also causes high blood pressure and a lot of swelling (which makes BP worse which makes kidneys worse). My kidneys dramatically declined from having my baby in January. I'm only 32

Wow poor girl that sucks. I was a bit stupid when I was young. Didn't test my bsl very often and I'm still not great with doing it but I do try.
