I needed to write a letter of appeal to my insurance to get my pump covered. I would imagine u can do the same. it basically said the reason why it is needed. variation in work schedule, work load , etc. then I got into its a small cost I'm comparison if u have unregulated sugars so long where eventually u run into complications, surgeries, amputations, etc. basically saying, hey, it could get a lot more expensive of I don't get it

no appeal...our plan simply does not cover it...our plan comes up for renewal in 2 yrs and then things can be added or taken away at that time

hey...go to Google and search on Canadian health plan exception. there's a discussion on childrenwithdiabetes.com about this...they had their endo write a letter of medical exception and got their work site's benefits plan administrator involved..they won...even though they said there was no appeal.
