Mum is type 2, anyone know why even on medication, her blood sugar still cannot get below 8? Thanks. She is on met 500 twice a day.

I was the Same my meds had to be changed and she needs to look at her diet do a food diary and show it to her doc oh she needs to do exercise 20 min a day is good I hope this helps x

I was the same my medication was changed and I started walking everyday for half an hour and I have come down to 5 to 6 now c

for type 2 cut out breads, pasta, rice, potatoes and other high carb food. eat veges meat low carb fruits. eat quick acting carbs only to correct a low blood sugar event.

At the end of the day, oral medications can only assist the beta cell production and insulin resistance so much. Insulin may be the best option, which is less of a big deal than people think it is.
