I am not a marathon runner but anyway- have you thought about eating slow releasing carbs before your work out- for example bread, rice pasta and so on

I am not a runner either but once you get your pump, you can reduce your basal rate during your run. Best to reduce it at least an hour before exercise, you would need to be a bit structured. You still might need carbs but hopefully less. I have the t:Slim and keep it in a Nike runners belt when I am home (I live alone) and walking around in just underwear. Tommy John brand underwear also comes with a pocket that is great for the pump.

As a runner, you might want to be able to see your CGM (Dexcom) numbers on your watch. If you choose the t:slim, you might NOT want to get their latest G4 pump, it would be hard to get info on your watch. I would suggest getting their pump that does NOT have CGM built in and instead use the Dexcom G5, that will use your iPhone as the receiver, the iPhone would then transmit to your watch. Downside is you would need to carry an iPhone when you run. The Dexcom G4 pump would show all your data but you would have to pull the pump out to access CGM data
