where people touched by diabetes help each other.

Anyone have more than one T1 kid at home. Looking for some info. My son was diagnosed almost exactly a year ago. My daughter started showing signs about 5 months ago her a1c was going up and she was loosing weight and having accidents and all the stuff. We started her on a very low dose of lantus and then within about 2 weeks everything went back to normal and we stopped giving the lantus. I am curious if she was just having some resistance issues or if giving the lantus this early slowed or stopped the process for a while? Any similar stories?

Honeymooning, 6.3 is a dx in of itself even if there were no symptoms. I have a freind with 3 t1d. the youngest is only on fast acting for breakfast and a correction here and there. I personally would want to keep the long acting going to take the stress off beta cells. during the honeymoon normal glycemia is to be expected, overnight and fasting down to 65 and Minimal spiking. it's hard in a way because you want to treat those below 100 numbers nut her body wants normal glycemia and kicks out insulin to deal with it.

I didn't think about it that way. Maybe I will out her back on it. Gonna talk to the dr. Definitely. I hate the waiting game. I'd rather just know it's here and get her adjusted than having to wait it out.
