Teenages ugh!!!! It's a stage,Mom. It's scary and frustrating. While younger, you really had more control of her diabetes and now she is sick of it and everyone else running her life. It's time to rebel. Take a deep breath, stand back, watch for signs. If she looks or acts low or high then you may have to insist on she check her sugars and correct. Look into literature written by other teenage diabetics. Mostly, you will have to let her figure it out. you will not be there to manage it forever.

Ever he wants, even sweets, just as long as he gives his insulin for it! If he dosent then he will know that those foods will be restricted, he's 15 1/2 going on 10 years now as T1

Exactly, I understand insulin can be expense but, there is no reason she should be restricted if she doesn't have an eating disorder. Let her eat what she wants but encourage her to take care of herself as well. If it helps, have the doctor explain the risks again. I.E. loss of limbs or eyesight, etc. the wake up this is no joke stuff. have it done on her next appointment like the doctor was going to do it anyway. she doesn't even need to know you said anything.

My daughter does that as well. I have had to explain what happens when you don't take insulin when you eat carbs. When she still didn't listen I brought it up to her nurse at an endo appt. she might no

Not like it but sometimes they don't listen to us and need someone who is very well informed to explain to them the truth.
