Congratulations**** How's everything gone with being pregnant and being diabetic. Have all pregnancies been similar?

My mind is on the stereotypical things you hear about- large babies/c-sections/complications... I would like to have as much info as pos so that I'm prepared! I sound like a worry wort!

It's best to be prepared. Had reasonable control during my sons pregnancy but not my daughter. Both born at 35w via c-section due to my placenta breaking down. DS was 4lb 8 and DD was 5lb 12

DS has bad eyes but that's all. DD has a raft of abnormalities but no idea if related. Be prepared for bub to go to special care as they will need their sugars to be monitored.

Because mine were early, DS was in for 17 days and DD was in for 11 days. You should get extra ultrasounds too :) I've also had 5 MC's which may or may not be related

Your sugars will drop towards the middle/end of your first trimester but then your needs will increase. I get seen at the Mater. They've got an excellent support program
