This is encouraging. I am 15 years in with no complications. I always say that we didn't have much to say regarding getting DM but we have most cards in hands if it comes to complications.

You are very right. In my teens it was a little harder as I was rebelling towards the disease. Now I am doing great :)

Hi I've been a type 1 diabetic for 6 years. I'm 19 so basically I'm rebelling/ just don't care but I don't know how to make myself care, is there any advice you guys can give me to get over the rebelling period?

Some quit carrying because they feel overwhelmed and like dealing with mission impossible. It is good to decide on small steps, not on getting it all perfect right away. Understanding that it will never be perfect set realistic expectations, but it can be better today. Reaching out, finding others dealing with this helps, attending support group etc. To be honest fear of complications is a motivator for me personally. Try to figure out WHY? Focus on small achievements , good luck😍
