where people touched by diabetes help each other.

Hello, My name is**** 22, and I'm Type 1. I've had it for 15 years, since age 7. Last six years have been up and down A1C 7.8-11.3, and I'm scared for my future health. Any encouragement/support?

Hi****.. I hope you can get your a1c lower soon... Do you have a pump and/or a continuous glucose monitor? Also there are some Facebook groups that you could try joining. This disease is hard work, but you can do it!!!

I don't have either. I tried the pump 2 years ago for a week, but had confusion working it, especially cause I was getting errors.

What pump was is it? Maybe a different one would work better for you. Also, it takes a little while to get a handle on using a pump. You should probably give it about a month to get the hang of it. If your insurance will cover a pump and a CGM, they can be great tools to help battle this disease.

It was by Medtronic. I'm gonna give it another shot...I'm seeing a new Doctor in two weeks and I'm hoping I can get a CGM/pump. It's so hard at times to control, and I find myself exhausted/stressed.

I have the Medtronic pump I love it. At first I was unsure but I had a good support diabetic educator that I can call 24/7. This pump has saved me and regulating my sugar.

Hey**** I've had diabetes for 24 years now. I'm 26 now. I've been using a pump for about 8 years. I recently got a new pump, it's called the T:Slim by Tandem and I love it.

Adjusting to having a pump can be really difficult, it was for me. It can take some time and a whole lot of patience and diligence.
