where people touched by diabetes help each other.

HBA1C is 8.8 - down from 14 😝 bad news is my creatinine is over 300 which means I have to talk to a Dialysis Educator

You've got kidney disease???? Stage??? I've got it, stage 4 & holding. A lot of it depends on how your kidneys are functioning - I think if they're at 14-15% that it's dialysis time. The 15-20% they start preping you for it, like the operation for the connection like your you

Hi**** Yes, had slight kidney damage then went and got pregnant and my levels have been going up since! My eGFR is at 16% now so stage 4, practically 5. Last appointment (3 months ago) I was a stage 3 bordering on 4

Wow. A FYI when you need to get your blood drawn - I was told to get it done in wrist or hand - keeps blood vessels in your elbow good for when they put that connection thing in

not to barge in or anything but I'm in LaCrosse Wisconsin. I'm stage 5 kidney disease at 15% function. I go to Rochester Mayo for my pretransplant evaluation on July 20th.

I'll go on the list officially after my evaluation. I'm not on dialysis yet and they are hoping to find me a match before I have to start dialysis. A year ago now I was at 30% but the function has decreased quickly to the 15%.

Do they do a double transplant in America too?

yes****..if I get a deceased donor then I will receive both the kidney and pancreas. The Dr is hoping we find a live donor though because studies have shown that those kidney transplants are more successful.
