where people touched by diabetes help each other.

How do you handle your emotions? When you're Bloodsugar is low? When you're Bloodsugar is high? When you're Bloodsugar is on a Rollercoaster rose? When any of these coincide with stress?

Badly! Both high and lows make me short-tempered, roller coasters make me irritable. Stress actually lowers my BG, which is very unhelpful.

I usually have my emotions in check, but when someone comes with a nasty comment I usually get real pissy when my Bloodsugar is high. Usually I can brush off stupid comments.

And I feel that is hard for anyone who isn't diabetic to understand. They think you're just being an ass.

My name is****Scheiner MS, CDE, owner and clinical director of Integrated Diabetes Services (www.integrateddiabetes.com), a private practice that provides diabetes management consultations for insulin users worldwide (I also have type-1 myself). Highs and lows are part of the game. Accept it. Look at the big picture! Adjust based on patterns and let outliers be.
