Did anyone experience a major rise in A1C after going to college? Campus food is deadly with its high carbs and no nutrition info

Try rechecking 2 hours after eating and covering BS level then. Do that in addition to checking and covering before meal.

My daughter did, and she checks a lot. She's in a pretty tough program and I think stress has a lot to do with it. She started back on dexcom hoping it helps.

Hi Jaymee, that's really common. Please feel free to check out some of the information on our website - collegediabetesnetwork.org - particularly the "life on campus" section.

Hi! I went to college when I was on injections and for two years I couldn't have more than 1 a1c under 9 and never any under 8. This summer I checked maybe 8x/day and managed a 8.2 and a 7.6

I basically did everything Endo thinks we should do 24/7 and it was exhausting but it got my pump back and now I'm at 6.5. I started a CDN chapter at UDel and it's been AMAZING. Community helps!!!

Also download calorie king app for carbs! And if possible, look to get off the meal plan. I did and it's been my saving grace.
