Hi I have recently been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes what would prefer pump or insulin pens??

Id say pump

Hi. I'm**** I would start off with insulin pens and vials just so you can know how to use them in case of an emergency.. Also it's easy to see and change your rates if you can just take a shot. B

The pump is great. But I think starting with pens and shots is better to get familiar with first. Once you have that down and all good. Then look into pumps

But it is a little annoying to carry around but it's worth it. After about a year I would start the pump. It's much easier but you need to know how to use the shots

But for pens, at least make sure you are using a 4mm pen needle

No problem! Also pumps are a little annoying in the summer. Especially if you don't want your site sticking out while you're in a bathingsuit

Just a question you don't have to answer if you don't want to but what type of insulin are you guys on and how much for example:12units lantus night ect

Novolog, give myself about 15 units a day. Still honeymooning a bit(only been a t1 for 4 years)
