where people touched by diabetes help each other.

I've been diabetic for 17 years. I am thinking about getting a CGM. I have heard both good and bad things about them.. What are some of the pros and cons to them?

It's another thing attached to you. I don't have a problem with this as my CGM has helped me a lot. There is only one pump and CGM that are linked. I do not use that brand. So I have another device to carry. Again, I do not mind this. I've been able to get back in the gym and in general have been able to have a lot more freedom since getting on the pump and adding a CGM to my maintenance. I've been a diabetic for over 31 years.

I have the Dexcom 4 CGM and love it. It has helped we drop my A1C.

PROS: it really does help with better control. CONS: it does take a little more work/effort, but is just me.

I have the pump/CGM combo and I love being able to catch problems before they get bad and being able to figure out minute adjustments to my rates.
