where people touched by diabetes help each other.

I've been diabetic for 8 years and now that I'm older and trying to be independent but I find it very difficult. Any tips for how to approach a boss about diabetes. I get extremely nervous :/

what do you mean exactly?

People won't hire me because of my diabetes when I tell them or I get fired because I don't say anything and I get really sick and find difficulty in explaining, and so I am constantly losing jobs?

first of all nobody can fire you because you have a medical condition, its against the law. there is no reason you shouldn't say you are diabetic, as long as you keep your levels under check and declare that your medical condition will not effect your work. I had some days that my pump connection was not OK and I had to stay home and fix it. but that happens rarely. if you tend to get highs or lows just make sure u always have some sugar and an insulin pen or even your pump kit for quick replacement and you should be fine.

in any case you can tell your employer- yes I am diabetic but I take care of myself and it should not effect my work. as any medical conditions goes there are always exceptions but I know how to handle them

Sometimes I'm incapable because if I have a high or low sugar level I panic and I can't think straight and I just end up crying and can communicate with anyone, has that ever happened to you?
