Yes right after kidney transplant. The prednisone raises my BS only 50 points. I eat very low carb so I don't need to shoot much more. I still get in trouble for not shooting more with the transplant services.

Mine was caught about 3 years after the transplant. I only take 2.5 mg of predict but at that time was on 5 mg. It doesn't matter what I eat, how much or how little Usually under 200 but totally discouraging for me. Nice to have someone who understands the situation

I wish I could of been reduced on ores. I bed and beg,, trans hospital just said No. guess it was because my creatinine was to high on transplanted kidney. It started at 2.0 and was leaking protein when I received it. They told me I would loose my kidney and 5 years later which was now I am loosing it. Back to dialysis and Nexstage will be it again. I wish you a ton of years on your transplant.

Thanks so much. I received it in #### and since have had 2 granddaughters born. I wish I could discontinue the pred altogether but they say no. Pred also caused a tumor in my heart requiring open heart surgery. Best of luck to you also. Will you be trying for another transplant?

Hello**** I had my Kinney transplant in ####, and 6 months after my transplant I did my blood work and the following day was told to go to the emergency room. My blood sugar was 1,000. I was not symptomatic. Pryor to this my blood sugar had always been normal.

Wow! Mine was 900 when I finally took the diagnoses seriously. I was drinking soooo much and would fall sometimes. I was lucky I didn't hurt the transplant and approach each day with the determination to get things right. How is your transplant doing? 12 years out and my creatinine is .75. Been blessed
