I've had Type 1 for 40 yrs. it only affects my sleep when I have high blood sugar 250 & higher or when I'm low 80 & below. I can wake up & correct it by either injecting a few units for a high sugar or

Eat a snack &/or candy for low blood sugar. My anxiety is going to bed & not waking up to take care of myself. I must eat a healthy snack before going to bed.

I have severe gastroparesis & am forced to wake 2x nightly to test BG levels otherwise face extreme highs/Iows, happening quickly. Dont sleep til 3am & wake at 7.45am so dont get any deep sleep really.

Cgm alarms are a big problem for me. It seems that if I run high overnight there's no bringing it down even with corrections. My high alert goes off every 2 hours if I don't get back in range
