Even untrained dogs will sometimes wake you up from a low. I slept over at a friend's house and her dog licked my face til I woke up... I was 42!

All dogs are capable of detecting highs and lows. they smell the change in your hormones. the real trick is teaching the diabetic to recognize how a dog alerts. when the dog does and is correct they are treated which encourages them to do it again.

I'm a mom supporting a child with type 1 diabetes since 2012.

Just be careful when choosing. I know of one provider that has several lawsuits against them for the dogs being untrained and not detecting. Cost like $18,000 too
