Curious if any other long term diabetics are having body pains? Turns out diabetic and tendons do not get along over time. What's your experience been with this. I can't be the only one.
I have developed nerve damage and will be getting carpal tunnel surgery for both arms. The tendon and nerves both go through there.
39 years T1D
I've had trigger finger develop in my right thumb from diabetes & had to have surgery. It is now starting in my right ring finger so will eventually have surgery for it.
T1D - 42 yrs
Sorry to hear that Bruce. I have carpel tunnel syndrome as well, but it is from the tendons thickening. Had an emg and luckily no nerve damage. Best of luck with surgery!
**** I've heard of trigger finger syndrome. I guess it's similar to my issue with the connective tissue. Been told the extra sugar in the blood causes problems with collagen in soft tissue.
Black Canyon City, AZ
I have developed frozen shoulder. Sucks, but trying to maintain as much flexibility as possible. T1x 34 years.
**** frozen shoulder is painful. Sorry to hear you have to deal with that too. Flexibility is hard for me cause it appears there is a nerve impingement in the shoulder when I lift it. Good luck!
