Pre-diabetic since 2017.

I have thrown myself into hypoglycemia.. with my symptoms my PCP doctor thought I was pre-diabetic but The endocrinologist said I'm not that because of the amount of exercise I do & the amount of weight I have lost (83lbs in 10 months) that I have confused my body.. she said 2 things have happened 1) regular exercise = insulin (this is why people with diabetes are encouraged to exercise regularly) and 2) when your over weight your body needs more insulin than when you are at or below weight so if you lose weight quickly sometimes your body doesn't keep up & is still making the amounts of insulin needed at the heavier weight & at the lower weight that's to much insulin & that can cause hypoglycemia... luckily my endocrinologist said that once my weight levels off & I start holding a weight instead of losing weight my body will adjust & start making the right amount of insulin... My advice is increasing your daily exercise & cut your carbs.. Good luck πŸ˜‰

**** are you in an insulin pump or multiple daily injections? Type 1 is very complex and just thinking about how to respond to you makes me realize how much I know and do everyday. You need to work with a diabetic educator or doctor to get yourself regulated. I am inspired by all the posts about people struggling with high blood sugar and dka to write a post with my story. Look for it hopefully tomorrow. I've been through more than I can even comprehend, but I'm still going strong. The best advice that I can give is to demand help from your doctor. Best to you. πŸ¦‹
