Hi everyone, any advice on stress or anxiety raising blood sugar. Like 100-200 points in 30 min. How would ya dose for that? Dr doesn’t have answer Looking for advice

Its mostly a trial and error dosing depending on the situation. When I used to gamble I'd set my insulin at 150% (I'm a pumper) until 30 minutes after I left the table. I found that shooting guns for any duration also drives sugars up but not as much (I raise to 120% at the range). I'd try the standard scientific approach if its a repeatable event that is raising your sugar. Increase your insulin slowly and test more during and after until you find a good match.

Chuckle. I’ve got my medical marijuana card. It helps. Saves me 30% of insulin.

I’ve found that it’s easier to clam down, take a walk then retest. The walk will help use up the blood sugar naturally and then you won’t have to take a large correction dose.

Thank you**** I avoid large doses of insulin. ie: I don’t eat a whole cake and dose for it. It does come down with various calming ......... things. Just nowhere near as fast as it goes up. Your advice is appreciated and warmly received 😀
