where people touched by diabetes help each other.

Hi everyone, any advice on reaching medtronic about a new insulin pump? I sent a message on their site weeks ago where supposedly someone will contact you and have tried calling but end up on hold for 15 minutes. Ready to give up and go elsewhere. Any advice?? Would really like a new pump soon before my old supplies runs out.

I did the same thing you did and did not get a response. I read in their most recent quarterly financial report that current Medtronic customers are given an upgrade option to 670G before new customers. And they are working through that now. 670G won't be available to new Medtronic customers until #### at some point ( the report didn't say exact date). Maybe that is why they did not contact us?

Here is the press release. There is a phone number to be added to the customer que for new Medtronic patients. http://newsroom.medtronic.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=####&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=####

I just went through the process. I sent messages and filled out all of their things online and never got a call. I then talked to my son's endo who gave me our sales reps' number for our area. Once I called him directly the process moved very quickly. My son got the 630G as a 6 week trial and will be receiving his 670 by the end of August. *Also my son is a new Medtronic customer. So I would say contact your endo and see if they have your sales rep info.

Thanks both of you! Yes I had contact info for a sales rep and it changes based on who my endo is as the rep told me so I just reached out to the new one. I have a medtronic pump but it's been out of warranty for a year now and couldn't upgrade last year due to no insurance. Really hoping I can get the ball rolling soon.
